Testimonials
Here’s What A Few of Our Clients Have To Say…

If you want to have some Serious Fun, check out Charleston’s Number One dance band, The Soul Doctors. From James Brown to Delbert McClinton, their high-energy covers get everyone out of their seats and onto the dance floor, and they have the chops to do justice to some of America’s greatest tunes. Your party starts when the Doctors are in the house.”

Larry Groce – Host of Mountain Stage

Dear Steve,

Carter and I have tried to figure out the best way to Thank You and tell you and all The Soul Doctors how absolutely wondeful and amazing you were at our wedding! Simply stated you are The Best! We really appreciate your kindness and willingness to whatever to make the day wonderful. Whatever we can do to help you all in terms of recommendations, PR, etc. please let us know!

Very fondly & warmly,

Katie and Carter Mitchell

Dear Steve,

I wanted to thank you and The Soul Doctors so much for the delightful entertainment at the Gala. As usual you had the place rocking and the dance floor full! Everyone had a great time.

My hearfelt thanks and personal best regards to you and all of The Soul Doctors.

Sincerely,

Rick D. Jones for CAMC Foundation

Recently, I had the opportunity to experience the energetic sound of Charleston’s Soul Doctors, who rocked the house from first note to last. Guests absolutely charged the dance floor to groove to everything from Al Green classics to Delbert McClinton rockers to smooth, smooth Smokey Robinson soul-paragons, all familiar, all covers, but amazingly and consistently well-executed, due to the mighty vocals (and delightfully ostentatious cumberbund) of Steve Payne and the powerful, soulful, saxophone riffs of brother Doug Payne, who doubles as keyboard-player.

Complementary rhythm, tasty guitar licks, and smooth fills were provided by guitarist Tim Coll. Add all that to the finest rhythm section any band could dream of, with drummer Ammed Solomon and Steve Hill on bass, and you’ve got exactly what the doctor ordered for the quintessential R&B combo Rx.

Susanna Robinson for Graffiti Magazine

Good Medicine: The Soul Doctors I have hired both nationally and regionally recognized bands since 1977. I’ve learned no matter how good a band’s promotional package seems, what you see and hear there, is not necessarily what you get.

This isn’t the case with the Soul Doctors, who I have hired no less than seven times in the same town for fundraisers and special events. What you see, what you hear, is what you get. And even better than you expect.

These are accomplished musicians , having played together for many years . They are comfortable in any venue and with a varied audience. It is rare to find a band that can capture the music and make it their own, as do the Soul Doctors.

Driving the band with solid lead vocals is Steve Payne, along with guitarist Tim Coll, bassist Steve Hill, drummer Ammed Solomon and on sax and keyboard, the multi-talented Doug Payne.

Packed venues and overflowing dance floors are hallmarks of the Soul Doctors. In my town, they are considered the “house band”.

If you are looking for a polished, professional group, you owe your audience The Soul Doctors.

Respectfully,
Pat Bauserman,

“The entertainment for the fourth annual Ronald McDonald House McGala was one of the best ever! The members of the Soul Doctors were very professional to work with and their dance music/performance really set a terrific ‘party’ atmosphere that had our guests dancing the entire evening!”

Craig Casto -Ronald McDonald House

McGala Committee

Steve,
I just want to thank you for the superb job The Soul Doctors did for our wedding. Everyone is still raving about the band, and literally danced until they couldn’t dance anymore! Literally the band was as hot as the night, and it was hot! The time you spent with us before the wedding and learning our special song is really appreciated. We’ll never forget our reception and dancing the night away under the stars to the sounds of The Soul Doctors!

Emily and Evan Kime

On August 26, 2006, a widower and a widow married each other with the help of 350 of their closest friends and The Soul Doctors. Outdoor wedding; Greenbrier County farm; giant tent; dance floor. For every song the dance floor was crammed with people. Fueled by the response of the crowd to classic soul music, the band had as good a time as we did. Our 30-something children were on the dance floor along with everyone our age who knew the words of every song. It was a great occasion, made more special by The Soul Doctors. It’s all about creating memories and this band does it.

Charles L. Woody

The Soul Doctors played for a recent Daymark fund-raising event. The band’s appearance created a dramatic increase in attendance. They were professional, prompt, gave great attention to detail and it was a pleasure to work with them.

And their music . . . AWESOME. I highly recommend The Soul Doctors.

The Soul Doctors are the greatest! We ask them back year after year because our Christmas parties wouldn’t be the same without them. They keep the crowd entertained with tunes that everyone likes. They definitely get a thumbs up from all of us at Kingston Resources, Inc.

We are delighted to have The Soul Doctors back as our band for the Annual Charity Gala & Auction, our largest fundraiser of the year. Our guests have requested their return. They love The Soul Doctors’ music and the dance floor is packed all night long. What a great way to end a wonderful evening!

Leigh Henry and Celebration! have been leading lights on the Metro New York/Connecticut musical scene since Leigh and musical director Michael Terry formed the band over twenty years ago. This ensemble blends the talents of eight versatile professionals to create outstanding music for your event with energy, elegance and style. Lead vocalists Leigh Henry and Tracey Marble, the skintight “Horns O’Plenty” and the “Big Groove” rhythm section are the heart and soul of a band that goes from sophisticated jazz to four-part vocal harmonies to soulful dance grooves and back to classic rock with authenticity and ease.

Our individual musicians have performed and recorded with legends like Bruce Springsteen, Diana Ross and Nile Rogers. Together in “Celebration!” these individuals unite to make your special day legendary as well.

All About Me

testiCollage
The All About Me Band performs primarily in the Philadelphia area and the South Jersey area. The solid, dependable leadership of bandleader, founder & trumpet player Mike Jarosz, combined with classy, sophisticated and stylish musicians has earned the All About Me band a special place among the best wedding bands in Philadelphia. Consisting of true professionals who have performed and recorded with modern artists like Beyonce, Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake, Mary J Blige, LL Cool J, as well as music legends like Patti LaBelle, Los Lonely Boys, The 4-Tops, and The Temptations.

All About Me performs these Top 40 hits with an original twist of their own! The band’s faithful following, returning clients and numerous performances in the Philadelphia area have lead to an overwhelming demand of the band compared to most wedding bands in Philadelphia. This helps the band to operate independently, without representation by agents and thus providing affordable entertainment to its Philadelphia brides and event planners.

The band’s musicians are humbled by this achievement and realize it has come as a result of their commitment to always bring their best musicianship, energy and fun loving attitude.
